    What Is the Roller Training Course and VOC?

    Our roller training program is a nationally recognised course that equips participants with the skills and confidence to operate rollers safely and efficiently. It covers: Smooth drum rollers Padfoot rollers Combination rollers Multi-tyre pneumatic rollers The VOC component is a targeted assessment for experienced operators to confirm they are still competent to operate safely in your current work environment and with specific machinery.

    What’s Included in the Roller Training Course?

    The full training course is aligned with the unit RIIMPO317F – Conduct roller operations, and includes: Site hazard awareness and risk control Pre-operational checks and machine preparation Identifying ground conditions Performing compaction to specifications Working on slopes and confined areas Roller techniques: overlapping, rolling patterns, moisture management Emergency procedures and safe shutdown Routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting

    Roller VOC: What We Assess

    If your operator already holds a Statement of Attainment or has relevant industry experience, a VOC assessment is the fast-track way to confirm ongoing capability. We assess:

    • Inspection and preparation of roller

    • Effective communication with ground crews

    • Equipment control and maneuvering

    • Working safely around utilities, trenches, and plant

    • Execution of compaction passes and pattern control

    • Site-specific hazards and JSA comprehension

    • Environmental compliance (dust, noise, surface disruption)
